Dr. Archana Dixit trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi, India. She came to the UK in 2002 after becoming the first Asian doctor who had never worked in the UK to have achieved the Gold Medal in the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) examinations, 2001.
She has been working full-time as a Consultant O&G at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Trust, with her clinical practice based mainly at the West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth. She is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at The Imperial School of Medicine and The Brunel Medical School in London.
Alongside her NHS practice, she runs a busy private gynaecological practice at several premier London hospitals.
Extremely proud of her Indian roots and heritage, Archana spreads awareness of South Asian heritage and culture within the NHS and is a champion and advocate for South Asian women and their health.
She was nominated by her patients for the Asian Women of Achievement Award (Professional Category) in 2018 and was one of the finalists for this award that year.
She is also an accomplished singer and along with her husband who is also a doctor, organised an annual charity musical fundraiser for causes related to women’s health within South Asian women. Their most recent fundraiser at The Bhavan, London on November 18, 2023 was hugely successful, themed around Diwali and raised over £8K for the above cause.
Archana is extremely proud to be associated with Inspiring Indian Women and all the work they do to ensure that the voices of Indian women living in the UK are heard, providing a safe space for them to raise concerns and also to come together, inspire and support each other.
