Celebration of National Handloom Day

IIW proudly organized the spectacular ‘Saree Walkathon 2023’ in collaboration with British Women in Sarees. Over 500 vibrant women adorned in diverse Indian handlooms walked from Trafalgar Square to Parliament Square in London on August 6. Supported by meaindia and hcilondon, this event showcased the elegance of handloom sarees, representing India’s rich cultural tapestry. The walk concluded with a stunning Kerala traditional dance at Parliament Square, paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. A heartfelt nod to the artisans and the socio-economic impact of handloom weaving marked our celebration of National Handloom Day.

Celebration of Teej Function .....

Bringing the Colors of Teej to the Heart of the UK! 🌼✨ On the 18th of September, with the vibrant spirit of UP-based Indian women of IIW orchestrated a magical Teej festival celebration in the UK. Teej, a festival symbolizing the bond of love and devotion between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is a cherished tradition among Indian communities. Under IIW’s inspiring leadership, we united cultures and celebrated the essence of Teej, spreading its joy far from its roots. 🌍
